What maintenance is required for a Mineral Swim™ system?

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and long-term protection of your Mineral Swim™ system. This includes check valve replacement, cell inspection and cleaning, and maintaining proper water chemistry.

The Teflon check valve prevents water from flowing back into the system. A water trap (drain valve) must also be installed to protect the equipment in case the check valve fails.

  • Every 12 months, or
  • Immediately if water is seen leaking through the drain valve.

  1. Locate the check valve on the ozone line.
  2. Remove the tubing from both ends (a gentle twist may help).
  3. Insert the new Teflon check valve in the same direction (check the flow arrow is pointing towards the pool/spa line).
  4. Reconnect the tubing to both ends securely.
  5. Your check valves are now replaced and the system is protected from water backflow.

Yes. Although the system has automatic reverse polarity cleaning, you should periodically inspect the cell and clean it if calcium or other deposits are visibly built up on the plates.

Test your pool water regularly, your local Elite Dealer can help, and keep it within these recommended ranges:

  • Chlorine: 1–3 ppm
  • pH: 7.2–7.4
  • Hardness: 150–350 ppm
  • Cyanuric Acid (CA): 30–50 ppm
  • Total Alkalinity (TA): 80–120 ppm
  • Phosphates: 0–300 ppb
